Picture Orwellian bleakness combined with Burroughs Beat pennings and add a sprinkling of post-punk. A concoction which we call Hallan. This Portsmouth based four piece take the mundanity of everyday life and perfectly regurgitate it into a semi-abstract and distorted frenzy of punk musings, and they are hitting the ground running in 2021 with their single ‘Hands Up’.
Built on a vision of capturing modern life within their music, Headshrinkers infuse the vulnerability of veracious poetry, backed by confrontational punk riffs and 60’s jangly guitars. Taking influence from the likes of Joy Division, Fontaines DC and The Blinders, they amalgamate these influences to create a whole new cacophony of sound. Their frantic, full-force live shows bombard the audience with Scarlett’s pummeling drums and Xavier’s pounding bass-lines, complemented by James’ searing guitar and Garran’s gritty vocal performance alongside his chaotic stage presence.
Echo Gecco are three friends from the West Midlands that want to push boundaries with their music. We have all heard the same bands in the same genres doing thesame thing over and over again but Echo Gecco wanted to stitch all these wonderful genres together. With this ethos being the forefront of the bands mindset, they have created a sound all of their very own that has the ability to mix and blend genres that shouldn’t normally mix. Heavy riffs in a smooth jazz song? Who knew that would work?! The band believes that this type of versatility will make sure that any and every person that listens or watches Echo Gecco will find something they will enjoy.
