If you could share one thing with an audience before they first tuned into your music, what would you say?

Well, if you live in England, our summer weather doesn’t come around often, but every song of ours will make you feel like the sun’s blazing down on you! We’ve got your summer anthems covered!

What’s a non-music thing, a book, a place, a random job, a conversation you overheard, that actually changed how you create music?

I don’t know if anything non-music has helped change the way we have created our music, but the most important thing is, is that music should not be competitive. We have poured our hearts and souls into creating this, and we really hope people love it as much as we have creating it.

Give us a song origin story. Where did the idea come from, and did you know straight away that it was something, or did it take a while to reveal itself?

I think each song has its own journey! Some songs we have literally written in one sitting, so for example, ‘People Talk’. That song was inspired by ‘Particles’ from Nothing But Thieves. We had the main riff, and it all stemmed from there! It was written in about an hour! And other songs like ‘The Story’, which was a labour of love over several months!

Pick a song that you’ve released that could only have been written at that exact moment in your lives. What was going on, and is there any part of you that wishes you could still be in that moment?

Well, I would imagine Luca could speak more to this because I stay well away from writing lyrics, haha! There’s definitely some love, heartbreak and reconciliation talk in our songs throughout the whole of ‘To Hell With Love’.

Tell us about a gig that went somewhere unexpected: a night where the room, the crowd, or just something in the air made it feel like more than a show. What happened?

Absolutely, our last show at The Sunflower Lounge! It was our first show in Birmingham, and it was incredible to see so many people in the crowd singing our songs with us!

What’s going on in the world right now, nothing to do with music, that’s quietly making its way into what you’re working on?

Our personal lives are growing from families to moving into different parts of the country! I’d imagine that there’s definitely going to be some new life experiences that we’re going to draw on lyrically in the new music!

There’s a sound, an instrument, a texture you haven’t used yet, but it’s there in the back of your head. What is it, and what’s it waiting for?

I’d love to put a good saxophone solo in a song!

Which artist, alive, dead, from any era, would you most want to play your music to?

Actually, none! Because, imagine playing your music to your favourite artist and they hate it haha!

Forget the big moments. If your music was the soundtrack to one small, ordinary moment in someone’s day, what would that moment look like?

It’d have to be finishing work on a summer Friday night, the nights are light, and you have that instant relief of the time off ahead of you!

We are currently working on new music and are always pushing to build the band’s awareness around the country! So hopefully more shows and new music!
