Having already kicked off the year with new single ‘Fearing and Facing the World’, Cologne psych-rock quartet ACUA are back with another single to feast your ears upon; ‘Flood My Eyes’.

The album represents a shift from the lo-fi indie influence of their earlier work towards something tougher and more dynamic, as the band utilises contrast between quieter bridges and explosive choruses to push home emotional impact.

ACUA play hypnotic psych-pop and indie rock with atmospheric guitars, bony synthesisers and sawing bass that’s lead them to share stages with The Japanese House and Darwin Deez, and ‘Flood My Eyes’ sounds like a record built to close that gap between cult favourite and genuine breakthrough. There’s real ambition here, and the sonic palette to match it.
