Talking Horses are a band built for big moments, and new single ‘Sunday Morning’ sounds like the moment they’ve been building towards.

Formed in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in 2021 and road-tested through years of relentless gigging alongside the likes of Shambolics and Haunt The Woods, they’ve carved out a reputation as one of the Midlands’ most exciting live acts, and this is the record that proves that that’s only the start.

‘Sunday Morning’ is anthemic in the truest sense. Not arena-rock-by-numbers anthemic, but the real thing: a song that earns its scale through sheer emotional honesty. The chorus hits like the end of a long week: “Through these Sunday morning Monday blues / now and then I still think of you“. It’s the kind of lyric you’ll find yourself singing on the way home before you’ve even realised you’ve learned it.

Recorded at VADA Studios with producer Matt Terry, the track captures the live energy that has always been at the core of what Talking Horses do. There’s warmth and uplift baked into every layer, from the driving rhythm section to the melodic instincts that pull the whole thing together.

This is a song perfectly suited to the last hour of a festival day: sun going down, arms around your mates, not wanting it to end.
