Since emerging from New York’s anti‑folk scene in the late 90s, Jeffrey Lewis has carved out a career that defies easy categorisation. His songs, dense, funny, philosophical, chaotic and disarmingly sincere, have earned praise from Rolling Stone, Regina Spektor and the late David Berman, who called him the best pure songwriter he knew. What began as homemade cassettes recorded in a tiny NYC apartment has grown into a global touring phenomenon, with Lewis’ scuzzy, art‑driven indie‑folk becoming a touchstone for fans who crave something stranger, smarter and more human than the mainstream.
